Chronology of cameras Bentzin
The Astraflex II is the American version of the Primarflex II or Primar Reflex II.
Imported by the Ercona Camera Corp., it was distributed in the United States under various names:
By Sterling Howard, it was marketed as the Astraflex II, as seen here.
Under Peerless Camera Stores, it was named Peer Flex.
It appears that the majority of these cameras had significant reliability issues with the shutter, and Sterling Howard got rid of them by selling them at half the catalog price.
A pentaprism was supposed to be offered, but it was never released.
It's worth noting that by 1951, Bentzin had adopted the name Feinoptisches Werk Görlitz, as seen on the plate affixed to the right side.
